AJAX Engineering, a leading concreting equipment player from India, has entered the 3D printing industry with the unveiling of 3D Concrete printing machine. The company debuted its own machine, demonstrating its capabilities by erecting a 350-square-meter home in just three days, highlighting the possibility of rapid, cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable construction.

The AJAX 3D concrete printer is intended for large-scale applications, such as mass housing solutions that require quick construction. The technology provides an efficient means of meeting the government’s affordable housing goals. Aside from residential buildings, the AJAX 3D Construction printer is versatile, capable of producing structures such as villas, post offices, fire stations, wind turbine bases, and sculptures, opening up a world of possibilities.

The AJAX 3D Construction printer converts CAD designs into physical objects, transforming construction technologies by increasing design flexibility, reducing material waste, and improving structural strength and durability. The current model, APX 1.0, can build structures up to 10 metres long, 10 metres wide, and 9 metres tall. Capacity is expected to increase in future iterations.

“At AJAX Engineering self-reliance and innovation are fundamental to our business. AJAX has been building world-class in India for more than the last 3 decades. We have been championing the cause of Indian innovation and engineering through our distinct range of 360-degree concrete solutions.”

– Shubhabrata Saha, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, AJAX Engineering

Saha continued, “Launching our 3D printing technology underscores our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and creating world-class technology and equipment in India. We are excited by the possibilities that 3D Concrete Printer provides in terms of construction. We see distinct value in contributing to the goal of achieving “scale at speed” for shaping a transformative future.”

The technology provides numerous advantages, including reduced error, increased design flexibility, reduced waste, and lower material consumption. By working overnight and eliminating downtime due to safety or visibility concerns, the AJAX 3D Concrete printer shortens construction timelines.

AJAX Engineering plans to invest 100 crores in Karnataka, including a new plant in Hosahalli and increased production capacity in Gowribidanur, in order to maintain its impressive year-over-year growth.

The company also intends to provide comprehensive solutions to the concrete industry through its “AJAX School of Concrete,” which fosters skill-building and innovation through research and development, collaborations, partnerships, and consulting services. AJAX Engineering positions itself as a trailblazer in the future of construction with the introduction of AJAX 3D Concrete Printing technology, contributing to India’s journey to global manufacturing prominence.
