AMFG, developer of industry leading Additive Manufacturing Workflow Software, announced the start of a new collaboration with leading product development and prototyping company AME-3D. AME-3D will continue to strategically reinforce their core operations by implementing AMFG’s MES and workflow automation software, laying the groundwork for further scaling their production.

For the past 26 years, AME-3D has provided expert design and prototyping services, specialising in vacuum casting for production as well as RIM casting. Furthermore, the company provides a variety of 3D printing services, specialising in SLA and SLS AM for rapid prototyping and low volume production, and has recently invested in three more additive manufacturing machines.

AME-3D using AMFG’s MES & Workflow Automation Software

AME-3D serves a diverse client base, ranging from small Startups to large enterprises and spanning a wide range of industries. AME-3D takes pride in masterfully adapting their services to each unique use-case for each individual client. Over the last two years, the company has seen significant financial investment, sparking a new round of development and opening up new avenues for expansion.

After receiving funding, AME-3D identified MES and workflow software as a strategic investment that would allow them to mature and scale their manufacturing processes. The company was specifically looking to increase quotation speed by reducing manual input, making it easier for their current employees to manage higher RFQ volumes and accelerate quotation throughput. AME-3D began their search for a software solution that would help them achieve new levels of efficiency in their business.

“AMFG has a lot of capability packed into the software. I was specifically looking for a solution that enabled faster quoting, an online quoting platform and production management, and AMFG has all of these. I have benefitted a lot from the speed at which the support team at AMFG reply to queries. There is more that we can do with the software as we get further into the integrations with other parts of our business too. Strategically, I could see that growing AME-3D would be an easier task when we were building on a platform that offers clarity, control, and consistency.”

– Rich Proctor, Managing Director, AME Group

AME-3D discovered a solution to their operational needs in AMFG. The software’s quotation automation feature reduced labour time and provided greater control over quotation quality. Furthermore, AMFG’s digital catalogue functionality enabled AME-3D customers to order from a list of preconfigured CAD files, reducing the need for client input and establishing a transformationally simplified purchasing journey. With an official partnership in place, AME-3D intends to leverage the power of AMFG to accelerate their ongoing growth.

“At AMFG, we take great pride in aligning with high-growth organisations who are carving the path forward in additive. AME Group’s ambitions and demands for a solution were ambitious and well thought-out, but it’s great to observe the clear demonstration of value that AME-3D have derived from AMFG in both their customer-facing improvements and back office process efficiency”.

– Matt Martin, VP EMEA, AMFG

Following the agreement, AME-3D and AMFG collaborated closely on software implementation, including an intensive process of dissecting the company’s business framework and configuring the software to maximise the benefits of its application. With the new system in place, the company is already seeing operational improvements, easing previously time-consuming and labor-intensive tasks.

Along with traditional 3D printing applications, which AMFG has traditionally catered for, AME-3D has incorporated vacuum casting into their AMFG solution. Vacuum casting has grown in popularity within the company in the last year, and by equipping AMFG, AME-3D has strengthened their position to scale smoothly and continuously.
