As the world starts getting back on its feet, TCT Asia 2020 became one of the first exhibitions to start post-COVID crisis. Farsoon Technologies, a Chinese polymer and metal 3D printer manufacturer, unveiled, at the recently concluded TCT event, a new high-temperature 252P platform and two new materials for its Flight Technology.

The new Flight 252P offers two processing chamber configurations up to 220 and 280°C and employs enhanced thermal controls, temperature shielded components, and enhanced parameters which, when paired with Farsoon’s open hardware parameters, enable processing of a wide range of high performance polymer materials. The Flight 252P has been designed as a compact platform with research and small-scale production environments in mind.

FLIGHT TECHNOLOGY

Farsoon had earlier introduced its Flight Technology in 2019. A sintering technology that prints at speeds more than 5x than any previous system. The high speeds can be attributed to the use of a fiber laser instead of the standard CO2 laser.

The speeds do not compromise the quality as it delivers an even better output primarily by printing features as fine as 0.3mm.

NEW MATERIALS

Farsoon also announced two new materials – PA12 based FS3201PA-F powder and FS2300PA-F Polyamide powder. Both these powders are specifically developed for use in its Flight Technology to deliver parts with excellent mechanical properties, quality, accuracy, and superior toughness. FS3201PA-F powder is ideal for use in applications like functional prototyping and end-use components in the automotive, consumer, industrial and electronics markets.

On the other hand, FS2300PA-F Polyamide powder has wide ranging applications in a rapid prototyping, products requiring good toughness, surface quality and high productivity with reduced operating costs.

According to the Farsoon, “Our advanced material formula developed Flight Technology processing goes one step beyond for optimal detailing, enhanced durability and high reusability making it well-suited for functional prototyping and direct end-use parts in the automotive, consumer, industrial and electronics markets.”

COLLABORATION WITH FALCONTECH

Farsoon also struck a collaboration with Falcontech, a leading provider of complete solutions on metal AM technology from China, and the partnership has led to the development of the FS621M – a large-frame metal system. Farsoon is also working closely with Falcontech to develop a new industrial scale metal laser sintering system.

The FS621M metal 3D printer offers a build volume of 620×620mm and vertical axis of 1.1 meter. The metal 3D Printer has an option to be installed with a powerful single 1000W laser or quad 500W lasers. As always with Farsoon, this new system is also an open platform that delivers a high degree of control to tailor build parameters for cost-competitive metal 3D printing.

According to the company, “The FS621M’s integrated filter module features secondary circulating system and a dual-station filter design that allows for the exchanging of filters without disturbing the build process. The FS621M powder handling processes share a common powder container design which are used during loading, unloading and sieving procedures. These containers offer fully-sealed power handling, easy transportations between the stations, and safe storage of powder. This partially closed powder system allows for the capability of continuous feeding of powder to the build while retaining the ability to easily exchange and monitor powder quality.”

Farsoon Technologies is now focussing on increasing its partners in China for the new FS621M Beta system.
