Headmade Materials GmbH, a developer of powder metallurgy materials and processes, has announced its intention to join the ColdMetalFusion Alliance alongside other major industry players. ColdMetalFusion materials and applications are developed by the company.

The company has already released 316L and Ti6Al4V materials and plans to release 17/4PH stainless steel and M2 tool steel to serve a variety of applications. Furthermore, with the launch of its M2 tool steel for ColdMetalFusion, Headmade Materials demonstrates its strength in processing particularly difficult metals. With these capabilities, Headmade Materials can help customers with everything from application development and custom material development to large-scale manufacturing.

ColdMetalFusion Alliance

ColdMetalFusion Alliance is a collaboration of industry leaders with decades of experience in sintering, 3D printing, and traditional industrial manufacturing. The Alliance members work together to provide customers in the metal manufacturing industry with services, equipment, materials, software, and know-how.

“Headmade Materials is currently developing a broad range of key materials for the toolbox of application developers. The speed of this year’s development time makes us very enthusiastic about the future where we intend to provide tailor-made material solutions for our customers.”

– Christian Staudigel, Co-CEO of Headmade Materials

Christian Fischer, Co-CEO of Headmade Materials sad, “Thanks to ColdMetalFusion we were able to find applications where we can help customers change the rules of the game in their market. To enable this at large scale, we are looking forward to forge robust and reliable standards together with the Alliance.”

The vision of ColdMetalFusion is to industrialize additive manufacturing by establishing common standards between sintering and additive manufacturing. Members of ColdMetalFusion share not only standards, but also a culture and way of thinking. As “industrialists” with a long history, the members demand the robustness and continuous operation of a factory. The collaboration of Headmade Materials is an important foundation for accelerating ColdMetalFusion’s vision.

ColdMetalFusion members will demonstrate the alliance’s industrialisation mission at the Formnext 2022 exhibition in Frankfurt, Germany, in November. Headmade Material will be present at the ColdMetalFusion booth in hall 11.1, booth D48, where customers will be able to experience the newly qualified materials for the first time.
