IIT Madras launches Professional Certificate Course on 3D Printing Technologies

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has launched an online certificate course on 3D printing technologies for practising engineers. With the rapid adoption of technology in India, the industry is in desperate need of skilled engineers. This course aims to address the skill gap issue by giving professionals the opportunity to upskill in 3D printing technology.

The Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE) will offer the course, which is open to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, applied sciences, or basic sciences and at least three years of work experience. The intended audience for the course is practicing engineers, scientists, medical professionals, faculty members and research students.

The course is designed to include 72 hours of recorded videos and 24 hours of online live interactive sessions with faculty. This ensures that professionals can complete the courses according to their daily/weekly schedules and have the opportunity to interact with faculty for questions and clarification.

It includes modules on Processes, Design, Materials, Post Processing, Testing and Standardisation, and Application and Case Study.

The course is set to begin on October 2nd, 2023, with registration closing on September 20th. Candidates can register for the course by visiting the Course page.

Course Price

Despite the fact that it is a certificate course, it costs Rs. 1 lakh plus 18% GST. Candidates who register before August 31st will receive a 30% early bird discount. Course fees can also be paid in two instalments of Rs.41,988.33 or six instalments of Rs.14,110.83.
