Meltio offers a pioneering multi-metal 3D printing solution that enables industrial applications with a process built around commodity welding wire which is the safest, cleanest, and most affordable metal feedstock in the market. The Meltio 3D printer operates on Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) which is a Directed Energy Deposition (DED) process that functions by precisely stacking weld beads on top of one another, in powder or wire form, when introduced into the laser generated melt pool.

Users can achieve exceptional mechanical properties using single wire, dual wire or wire and powder materials. Meltio’s WP-LMD produces fully dense parts with superior microstructure. It claims to attain a consistent 99.998% densification of parts, exceeding the casting and forging properties, and in certain cases, matching up to wrought material properties. Meltio’s material compatibility currently includes steel, titanium and inconel alloys.
