3D Print World Pvt. Ltd, a 3D printing company in India recently 3D printed 21 unique Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Mementos for celebrating the occasion of the great warrior’s birth anniversary organised by MIT-ADT University, Pune. The occasion was graced by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Shri Sharad Pawar.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti (Birth Anniversary)
Recently, the world celebrated the birth anniversary of the great warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on 19th of February. The birth anniversary is often celebrated extensively across the state of Maharashtra and various functions are organized around the state. One such occasion was organised at World Parliament of Science, Religion and Philosophy at MIT – ADT University campus, Kothrud, Pune. The event was graced by the presence of the Nationalist Congress Party President Hon’ble Shri Sharad Pawar.
For this occasion, 3D Print World 3D printed mementos of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj which were handed over to the university. They 3D printed 21 pieces of a Horse Riding Shivaji Maharaj statue. The project was completed jointly by 3D Print World Pvt. Ltd and ShaperBot – another 3D printing startup led by Mr. Haresh Bhanushali. The mementos were very well appreciated and were one the charms of the event.
3D Printed Mementos of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj
3D Print World received the project order just a couple of weeks before the grand occasion. The team then had to start the project from scratch right from designing to the actual 3D printing and then post-processing.
The team was up to the task and quickly started working on the same. The project was then designed by 3D Print World’s in-house designing team. Once the design was approved, it was then rapidly 3D printed in their in-house 3D printing facility consisting of more than 50 FDM 3D printers.
On asked regarding the project, Ankit Murarka, Director at 3D Print World said, “The project was received at the very last moment and there was just enough time to complete it with regards to the designing, 3D printing & post-processing. With our dedicated and skilled team, we were able to successfully complete the project in time.”
According to 3D Print World, the decision to make statues was conceptualised very late and so it was difficult to make moulds, which would have been the common way to go about the manufacturing of the mementos. But due the time restrictions, 3D printing was the most optimum technology to create these statues.
With 3D printing, projects such as these can be accomplished in a very short duration, and with required customisation. The 3D printed mementos are lighter in weight when compared with a traditional moulded output. The project is a perfect example of how 3D printing technology can be used for low volume and low cost production with high levels of customisation and precision even at short notice.
