Mumbai-based 3D Print World Pvt. Ltd has helped the producers of Kesari – an upcoming movie starring Akshay Kumar use 3D printing technology to design, 3D print and metal cast an Emblem that is used on the turbans of 21 actors in the movie including Akshay Kumar.

The emblems which were 3D printed on Wanhao Duplicator 8 – a DLP 3D Printer, were also designed, 3D printed and metal casted by 3D Print World Pvt. Ltd – a 3D printing service bureau based in Mumbai, which is also the exclusive reseller of Wanhao 3D printers in India.

Speaking exclusively to Manufactur3D Magazine about how the company went about the project, Ankit Murarka, Director at 3D Print World said, “We have an in-house team of designing and prototyping which made a prototype of the emblem. Using the final 3D printed part as the prototype we carried out the metal casting of 21 emblems. Since we were involved at each step of the project, we were able to deliver the 21 emblems in just 3-4 days”.

When asked about why the producers of Kesari, approached 3D Print World to design and 3D print the emblem, Ankit added, “We got selected for this project because we offer end-to-end support to our clients. Right from designing, manufacturing, and casting, we offered everything that was needed to design and 3D print the emblems”.

This is not the first time that the 3D Print World Pvt. Ltd has helped producers of a movie use 3D printing technology. Last year, the Mumbai-based 3D printing service bureau also helped the producers of the movie “Gold” – also starring Akshay Kumar in the lead, design, prototype and 3D print Olympic Gold Medals which were used in the movie. The movie Gold was released in August last year and was one of the most successful movies of 2018.

Through this project 3D Print World has showcased that 3D printing has the potential to influence the entertainment sector as well. The emblems manufactured by 3D Print World will be seen on the bigger screen in the movie Kesari – inspired by true events and based on the Battle of Saragarhi of 1897. Kesari will hit the theatres on March 21, 2019.
