Neotech AMT GmbH of Nuremberg, Germany announces the successful installation of the first new 15XBT 3D printer at NAITEC, Navarra Spain. The 15XBT is an electronics 3D printer and is a replacement model for the best-selling PJ15X that includes significant improvements to the mechanics, HMI, and control system, as well as a new tool calibration station.
NAITEC is a Technology Centre in Navarre, Spain, specialising in mobility and mechatronics. The Centre assists businesses in developing more competitive and sustainable products and processes. We work with you throughout the lifecycle to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, functionality, and sustainability.
Neotech 15XBT 3D Printer
The 15XBT is a bench-top-sized system for 3D Printed Electronics production. It combines a 5-axis motion platform, sophisticated CAD/CAM software, and the most comprehensive set of integrated processing tools available. The system can create complex mechatronic systems by utilising full 5-axis motion across a wide range of print and functional tools. The 15XBT is intended for use with commercially available materials such as viscous pastes, nanoparticle and particle-free inks, adhesive/dielectrics, and biological reagents.
The new 15XBT 3D printer is intended for research and development, rapid prototyping, and low-volume production of 3D printed electronics. It integrates multiple printing technologies, as well as surface mount device pick and place and 5-axis motion control. The 15XBT provides a clear path to series manufacturing for processes developed on the platform by utilising a standardised, high-performance control system.
The 15XBT supports the most diverse range of functional materials, including conductive inks and pastes, dielectrics, and other functional materials that can be precisely deposited onto complex shaped, non-planar substrates, thanks to the use of multiple printing technologies. In addition, the system can 3D print mechanical structures in thermoplastics, thermosets, and ceramics, allowing for the production of ‘Fully Additive’ mechatronics.
“I am delighted that the first 15XBT has been chosen by NAITEC. They are one of the pre-eminent centres of excellence for mobility and mechatronics in Europe, providing innovative and sustainable solutions to a global market. The project will enable unique product designs that, for the first time, combine mechanical, electrical and potentially optical functionality.”
– Dr. Martin Hedges, Managing Director of Neotech AMT
Javier Bravo, researcher at NAITEC, shared, “We are very happy and satisfied installing the new 15XBT multi-material printer in our facilities. We have over 15 years’ experience in 2D printed electronics and this system is the key piece of equipment we need to be competitive in the emerging sector of 3D printed electronics. We are now equipped to incorporate passive and active electronics to our customer’s components from the automotive and mechatronic sectors. We will help companies to innovate, enhancing their existing products or creating new ones with the disruptive approach of 3D printed electronics.”
About Neotech AMT: Neotech AMT GmbH is a pioneer in the development of 3D Printed Electronics manufacturing technologies. Since 2009, the company has been at the forefront of developments in this emerging market, offering production-level solutions. The patented 45X system was the first 3DPE system to be used in the mass production of cell phones. Many other applications for automotive and industrial customers, such as 3D circuits, antenna, sensors, and heater patterns, are in the works.
