The Zortrax M300 Dual FDM 3D printer is the latest offering by the desktop printer manufacturing company. It is built upon its predecessor the M300 Plus. This is a large-format desktop-sized 3D printer with the incorporation of new additional features to enhance the user experience and printer performance.
The printer is still not available for users to buy but will soon be made available. Zortrax M300 Dual operates on the advanced LPD Plus technology. The patented LPD technology is now enhanced to accommodate the new system of dissolvable Support Structures and is named as LPD Plus.

Features
We have listed below several of the most prominent features of the Zortrax M300 Dual FDM 3D Printer.
Dual Extruder
The Zortrax M300 Dual, as the name suggests, comes with dual extruders for ease of printing. The support structures can now be printed in a soluble material to enable easy & quick post-processing.
Material Jam Detection
The extruders are fitted with sensors which detect any kind of material jamming in them, or material runs-out or even when the nozzle gets clogged. This triggers the sensor and it automatically pauses the print.
Automated Heated Bed Levelling
The Zortrax M300 Dual also offers an automatic bed levelling feature for the heated bed. The bed can be heated up to 105° C which is good enough for loads of materials.
External materials support
Zortrax allows the use of third-party filaments on the M300 Dual FDM 3D printer. This enables users to try out any branded filaments and does not restrict them from only using Zortrax filaments. However, it is important to note that generally 3D printers are highly compatible with the materials from the same company.
Blackout response system
The printer will detect power outage and will pause the print and will resume the print once the power returns.
Final Verdict
Speaking about the new printer, CEO of Zortrax, Rafal Tomasiak, said, “The dual-extrusion system and large workspace allow industrial-standard detailed and complicated printing while maintaining the characteristics of a desktop printer. Our goal is to transfer the possibilities offered by an industrial printing to smaller, more user-friendly devices. The new M300 Dual is another step in this direction. We have created a comprehensive system enabling users to work using Zortrax devices.”
The Zortrax M300 Dual FDM 3D Printer will be made available to buy from mid-2019. While the system looks great and the added features like dual extrusion, simple support removal process, & better control of print with ZSuite2 among others. It will be great to see the user reviews of this new desktop FDM 3D printer once it is released to the users.
