Our Story

In 2017, while running a home-based 3D printing service bureau, our founder Abhimanyu Chavan ran into two problems at once: there was no affordable, India-focused media platform where 3D printing businesses could market and advertise themselves, and no one was reliably covering the industry either — founders, buyers, even people inside the space had no real way to know what was actually happening.

That gap became Manufactur3D - built to give Indian 3D printing businesses, from established players to first-time founders, a place to tell their story and reach an audience that actually understood the technology and was eager to know more.

What started as a niche blog grew into a full industry publication: case studies, product launches, policy coverage, and the kind of on-the-ground reporting that comes from being embedded in the industry rather than observing it from outside. That same restless growth is what eventually carried us past 3D printing into the wider hardware story we cover today. Manufactur3D now sits at the intersection of trade journalism and industry record-keeping, read by engineers, founders, procurement teams, and institutions tracking where Indian manufacturing is headed next.

Founder

Abhimanyu Chavan has spent more than 10 years in the additive & advanced manufacturing industry. He started out in 2016 as a freelance content creator working with over a dozen international 3D printing brands, then ran his own 3D printing service bureau.

In 2017, he founded Manufactur3D, where he serves as Director. He has since worked with major names in the space, including 3D Systems, Markforged, and Meltio, combining an engineering background with an MBA to bring both technical depth and business context to his reporting.
