EOS, the leading provider of responsible manufacturing solutions and pioneer in selective laser sintering (SLS) technology, has launched the EOS P3 NEXT industrial 3D printer, at Formnext 2024. The new system promises up to 50% increased productivity and 30% reduced total cost of ownership compared to previous models.
The EOS P3 NEXT, which will be commercially available from December 2024, maintains the same build volume (340x340x600mm) as its predecessor, the EOS P 396, while featuring a smaller footprint with an integrated monitor. The printer introduces advanced software updates, improved scanning algorithms, enhanced recoater speed, and optimised heating systems.
“We listened to our customers and the market and delivered what we believe sets the new benchmark for mid-frame serial polymer SLS production. The EOS P3 NEXT is an exceptionally productive machine, and when combined with remarkable new materials – such as EOS PA 2220 HighReuse and ALM PA 950 HD, which require minimal refresh, the EOS P3 NEXT makes the strongest case yet for SLS for in-mouth devices, eyewear, surgical guides, structural components.”

EOS P3 NEXT Industrial 3D Printer
The new industrial 3D printer boasts several key improvements:
- Up to 90% machine availability for efficient operations
- Material efficiency with 80% reusability for ALM PA 950 HD nylon 12 material
- 70% material reusability with EOS PA 2220 HighReuse
- Improved dimensional accuracy and surface finish
- Streamlined production processes including unpacking, finishing, sieving, and material mixing
- Regulated markets readiness with biocompatible materials
Alexander Prillwitz, Product Manager for EOS P3 NEXT, explained, “This system provides an end-to-end manufacturing solution for users, streamlining the production process and creating a more user-friendly interface for operators. Regardless of AM experience, this system makes it easy to be successful with industrial polymer 3D printing.”
Industry Implementation
ADDMAN Group, a leading U.S.-based AM service provider with over 500 employees, is among the first to explore the EOS P3 NEXT’s potential. The company plans to integrate the printer into their new Health Excellence Additive Lab (HEAL) Center in Florida, launching in January 2025.
“The EOS P3 NEXT industrial 3D printer allows us to produce applications for the regulated medical market within a fully certified production environment, ensuring we meet both quality and compliance benchmarks,” said Jay Dinsmore, Executive Vice President at ADDMAN.
At launch, the printer will be compatible with various EOS materials including PA 2200, PA 2220 HighReuse, PA 2201, PA 1101, PA 3200 GF, PA 2241 FR and ALM PA 950 HD, with additional materials to be qualified based on customer requirements.
The EOS P3 NEXT industrial 3D printer is being showcased at Formnext 2024, November 19-22 in Frankfurt am Main, at hall 11.1, booth D41, where interested parties can see the machine in action and speak with EOS P3 NEXT experts.
