SUNLU 3D printing has launched its next-generation product for filament drying – SUNLU FilaDryer E2, a specialised drying system designed for engineering-grade filaments that require higher temperature treatment. The new device offers drying capabilities up to 110°C, making it suitable for advanced materials such as Nylon and PC that demand strict moisture control to ensure print quality and structural integrity.
The Chinese technology company developed this solution to address a critical challenge in professional 3D printing workflows. Many high-performance filaments absorb moisture from the air, which can compromise their printability and the strength of finished parts when not properly dried before use. The FilaDryer E2 represents a significant advancement in SUNLU’s product line, targeting users who work with moisture-sensitive engineering materials.
SUNLU FilaDryer E2 for Professional Results

The FilaDryer E2 delivers precise temperature management essential for proper filament conditioning. When operating in environments of 25°C (±5°C), the system maintains temperatures up to 70°C with ±3°C accuracy. For higher temperature ranges between 70°C and 110°C, it provides ±5°C accuracy based on measurements from four distinct points within the chamber.
This level of temperature precision ensures uniform heat distribution throughout the drying process, which is crucial for engineering materials that require exact conditions to reach optimal printing states. Without proper drying, moisture trapped in filaments can vaporise during printing, causing defects such as weakened parts, surface imperfections, and inconsistent extrusion.
The FilaDryer E2 features internal dimensions of 372mm × 192mm × 186mm, providing substantial capacity for different spool configurations. Users can simultaneously dry two 1kg spools, one 2kg spool, or a single 3kg spool. This flexibility accommodates various filament quantities based on production needs.
The spacious chamber includes eight outlet holes with quick connectors, allowing multiple filament strands to feed directly to 3D printers while maintaining the controlled environment. When outlets are not in use, silicone plugs help preserve the sealed conditions necessary for effective drying.
User-Friendly Design with Enhanced Safety Features

SUNLU has incorporated a touchscreen interface adapted from its S4 printer series, making the FilaDryer E2 straightforward to operate. Users can easily adjust temperature settings and customise drying or annealing cycles through the intuitive control panel.
Safety considerations feature prominently in the design. Even when operating at its maximum temperature of 110°C, the external surface remains below 55°C, reducing the risk of accidental burns during handling. The system supports multiple filament diameters—1.75mm, 2.85mm, and 3.0mm—accommodating a wide range of materials used in professional settings.
SUNLU has obtained UL, CE, FCC, UKCA, and ROHS certifications for the FilaDryer E2, demonstrating compliance with stringent global safety standards. These certifications reflect the company’s commitment to producing reliable equipment for professional use.
More than Filament Drying

Beyond its primary drying function, the FilaDryer E2 introduces an annealing mode that expands its utility for professional users. This feature allows for controlled heat treatment of completed prints to enhance their mechanical properties.
The annealing process involves heating finished parts to specific temperatures to relieve internal stresses that develop during printing. This treatment can improve dimensional stability and increase strength, making components more reliable for demanding applications. By offering this capability, SUNLU provides an all-in-one solution for both pre-printing filament preparation and post-printing part enhancement.
The system includes thoughtful details that streamline workflow integration, such as quick connections for Teflon tubes that simplify setup with multiple printers. These design elements demonstrate SUNLU’s understanding of professional production environments where time and material quality directly impact outcomes.
With the introduction of the FilaDryer E2, SUNLU strengthens its position in the professional 3D printing market. As the company continues to expand its range of engineering materials and update its product offerings, users can expect further refinements that address the evolving requirements of industrial and professional applications.
