Equispheres launches oxygen-free copper powder for AM

Equispheres, innovator in advanced metal powders for Additive Manufacturing (AM), is pleased to announce their new portfolio of oxygen-free copper powder designed for serial production programs. Equispheres breakthrough technology optimises powder characteristics for industrial 3D printing, providing scalable North American production of high-quality copper powders for the aerospace, automotive and semiconductor industries.

Validation testing of Equispheres Cu-OF (C10200) powder demonstrates high sphericity, high flowability, and excellent processability, with published data available on the AconityX high-performance system.

Equispheres powder technology precisely controls copper particles during formation to achieve high purity and optimise characteristics for industrial applications. High sphericity, ultra-thin oxide layer, and controlled particle size ensure consistent spread density and energy absorption in the L-PBF process.

“At Equispheres, we’ve harnessed our proven expertise in advanced powder technology—demonstrated through our success with aluminum AM—to introduce a next generation of copper powders. By applying the same breakthrough technology that set our aluminum powders apart, we’ve achieved remarkable results in copper. We’re excited to offer manufacturers a new benchmark in quality and performance.”

- Kevin Nicholds, CEO of Equispheres

Equispheres is pleased to establish North American production of oxygen-free copper powders. Copper alloy powders are also in development to address manufacturers’ diverse requirements, including strength, conductivity, wear and oxidation resistance.
