The Lubrizol Corporation announced that three ESTANE® 3D TPU grades formulated for fused filament fabrication (FFF) 3D printing applications are now available in the Ultimaker Marketplace. The added grades include ESTANE® 3D TPU F94A-055 OR HH PL ESTANE® 3DP TPU 98A, and ESTANE® 3DP TPU F70D.

According to Bart van As, Materials Product Manager at Ultimaker, “Lubrizol’s grades open the door for a great deal of possibilities for end-users printing with TPU; varying from outdoor parts with cold flexibility, to parts that require long-term heat performance. Filaments made from Lubrizol’s ESTANE® 3D TPU are among the softest and most flexible materials that can be printed on Ultimaker 3D printers.”

Ultimaker, a global leader in desktop 3D printing, offers a material library called the Marketplace in Ultimaker Cura which allows partner raw material suppliers to upload profiles that are compatible with Ultimaker printers. Lubrizol’s three ESTANE® 3D TPU grades fill demands from Ultimaker’s customers for FFF 3D printing applications for industrial jigs and fixtures, prototypes, end-use parts, and flexible parts such as orthopaedic insoles.

ColorFabb C.E.O. Ruud Rouleaux recognizes the importance of ESTANE® 3D TPU F94A-055 OR HH PL material for “its unique high heat long term stability.”

John Hosbach, general manager of Village Plastics mentioned that he utilizes ESTANE® 3DP TPU F70D for parts that are prone to rough handling because according to him, “it provides excellent flexibility and good all-around mechanical properties. Additionally, ESTANE® 3DP TPU 98A offers excellent abrasion and chemical resistance while achieving a high level of impact resistance; and most importantly it extrudes consistently and is easy to print.”

David Pascual, Lubrizol’s global 3DP marketing manager, said “We are very committed to making TPU materials with easy to process and consistent properties available via the Ultimaker Material Alliance Program to provide long-term and sustainable solutions to all the end-users, by focusing on differentiation, our goal is to attract new applications and help increase adoption of Ultimaker 3D printers.”
