Meltio, a disruptive laser metal deposition technology manufacturer, has partnered with IRTI Robotics, a turnkey solutions provider, as its official sales partner in India. IRTI will play a key role in the integration and support of the Meltio Engine Robot solution in the Indian metal 3D printing market. Meltio provides a ground-breaking 3D printing solution that enables industrial applications through a process based on welding wire, the market’s safest, cleanest, and most affordable metal feedstock.

IRTI Robotics will work with technology centres, tooling machine companies, academia, and industry to integrate Meltio’s technology in India.

“We are thrilled to be working with companies like IRTI Robotics as their expertise as well as customer-centric approach are exactly what we are looking for when incorporating partners in the Meltio partner ecosystem. Together, we will be able to cater to the ever-growing needs of the Indian market, and ease the adoption of metal additive manufacturing.”

– Luis Carlos Molinero, Sales Manager for India at Meltio

Indian Metal 3D Printing Market

India is the fastest growing major economy in the world at the moment and is seeing rapid growth in its GDP. It is the fifth largest country in nominal GDP terms and is set to rise to the third largest by 2030. According to an Ernst & Young (EY) report, India would have a significant advantage owing to its strong domestic demand, digitalisation, largest talent pool globally, financial inclusion, global competitiveness, and sustainability transition.

“India has been the fastest growing major economy for the third year in a row — a bright spot in a global economy facing strong recessionary impulses, multi-decade high inflation, record levels of public debt and the squeezing of real household incomes,”

– Tata Sons executive chairman N Chandrasekaran said in the foreword of the EY report

According to rough estimates, the Indian 3D printing market is around 900-1000 Cr today with the Indian metal 3D printing market roughly around 300-350 Cr. The industry is expected to grow at a CAGR of 20-25% over the next 5 years with a strong growth projected in machine sales driven by end-user adoption.

Meltio, a Spanish company, creates low-cost wire laser metal deposition (LMD) technology. When introduced into a laser-generated melt pool, LMD is a Directed Energy Deposition (DED) process that precisely stacks layers of weld beads. It can print with multiple materials at the same time and can be integrated with an existing CNC or robotic platform to create a hybrid manufacturing system.

It currently provides three 3D printing solutions: the standalone Meltio M450 3D printer, the Meltio Engine for CNC integration in hybrid systems, and one for robotic integration in large-scale metal 3D printing.

About IRTI: IRTI Robotics provides turnkey solutions from design to line handover, as well as a one-stop shop for industrial robotics needs, and is a supplier of industrial robots and spare parts.
