Meltio, a Spanish metal 3D printing company, has reached a significant milestone by selling more than 500 industrial metal 3D printing systems worldwide since its founding in 2019. The company announced this achievement alongside reporting over 50% revenue growth for the fiscal year 2024, establishing itself as a prominent player in the global metal 3D printing market.
The announcement comes as Meltio received the prestigious 2024 3DPI Award for its latest M600 3D printer in the Enterprise 3D Printer of the Year (Metals) category. This recognition marks a historic moment as Meltio becomes the first Spanish metal 3D printing company to receive this distinguished international award. The achievement follows their earlier National SME of the Year Award 2023, granted by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Banco Santander, which was presented by King Felipe VI.
Meltio – Spanish Metal 3D Printing Company

2024 proved to be a pivotal year for Meltio with the launch of two major products that strengthened their market position. The company introduced the Meltio M600 printer, their most advanced system to date, alongside the Meltio Engine Blue, an industrial system that enables the integration of Meltio’s 3D printing laser head into robotic arms and CNC machines. These developments have expanded the possibilities for manufacturing complex and large metal parts.
The M600 metal 3D printer, which earned the 3DPI Award, has gained recognition for its ability to work with a wide range of materials including copper, aluminium, stainless steels, titanium, Inconel, and nickel. This versatility has led to its adoption across various sectors including automotive, aerospace, mining, and petroleum industries.
Meltio’s technology has received validation from several military organisations, including the US Navy, French Navy (Marine Nationale), and Spanish Air, Land and Navy forces. These collaborations, stemming from projects initiated in 2021-2022, demonstrate the reliability and practical applications of their metal 3D printing solutions in demanding environments.
Financial Growth Amid Market Challenges
Despite a turbulent year in the 3D printing industry marked by company bankruptcies, mergers, and sales declines, Meltio maintained strong growth. Ildefonso Fuentes, Meltio’s CFO, explained that while the sector faced challenges such as inflation and rising operating costs, the company achieved more than 50% increase in turnover compared to fiscal year 2023.
“Our year-over-year growth is fundamentally based on clear organic growth. Our strategic decision to work on organic growth in the current context of global market uncertainty is particularly key to the long-term success of Meltio’s business.” Fuentes stated.
Future Technology Development
Looking ahead to 2025, Meltio has outlined ambitious plans for technological advancement. Lukas Hoppe, Head of Research and Development at Meltio, revealed that 2024 represented the most significant year in their history since the 2019 launch of their first products.
“With the launch of the new Meltio M600 and Meltio Engine Blue metal 3D printer with the new blue laser system and a completely new hardware platform that has been in development for the past three years, we are now able to meet the needs of industrial users with fast, reliable and easy-to-use solutions.”

The Spanish metal 3D printing company’s technology offers several advantages for industrial production, including a cleaner, safer, and more economical process that delivers higher quality in the final finish. These benefits have led to the integration of Meltio’s solutions into production lines across more than 60 countries.
Angel Llavero Lopez de Villalta, CEO of Meltio, noted the broader industry trends: “The past year has confirmed the trend in the incorporation of additive manufacturing technology as a mass manufacturing technology in industries around the world. 2024 has been confirmed as a year in which the industry needs to be more efficient and needs to become more competitive to compensate for the increase in costs.”
