Sciaky, Inc., a subsidiary of Phillips Service Industries, Inc. (PSI) and one of the leading provider of metal additive manufacturing (AM) solutions, announced that it has joined the Alliance for the Development of Additive Processing Technologies (ADAPT). This partnership will aim to work on eliminating the AM process qualification barrier and also expand the adoption of its Electron Beam Additive Manufacturing (EBAM®) technology in aerospace and other sectors.
Alliance for the Development of Additive Processing Technologies (ADAPT)
Headquartered at Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado, the Alliance for the Development of Additive Processing Technologies (ADAPT) is a membership-based industry-academia consortium that advances data informatics and characterization technologies to Optimize processes, materials, and parts for additive manufacturing.
By leveraging the latest developments in materials characterization and machine learning, ADAPTSM members have unique opportunities to compete more effectively to become global AM leaders.
As Sciaky joins ADAPT, both Sciaky and ADAPT are working together in close collaboration on a critical barrier to AM process qualification, which is the lack of fundamental understanding about how the process variables affect material microstructure and final part properties.
Speaking on the collaboration with ADAPT, Scott Phillips, President, and CEO of Sciaky, Inc. said, “Sciaky is pleased to work with the innovators of this higher learning consortium. We are always striving to break new ground with our EBAM process, as well as capture critical performance data on new applications.”
