Sigma Labs, Inc., a leading developer of quality assurance software to the commercial 3D printing industry, announced the signing of an agreement with AMFG, a leading provider of manufacturing execution systems or MES software to optimise and standardise the additive manufacturing workflow. This agreement intends to broaden the reach of both firms’ offerings and supply the market with an AM solution that improves quality and efficiency while lowering serial production costs.
PrintRite3D products enable metal additive manufacturing system users to improve quality, save costs, and increase throughput. It integrates inspection, feedback, data collecting, and critical thinking. It is a platform-independent solution that can be retrofitted to an existing machine or requested from your printer maker as a factory option.
MES Software for Additive Manufacturing

Specifically, the combination of the MES software and in situ monitoring systems will allow AMFG and Sigma Labs users and OEM companies to:
- Automate the complete additive manufacturing workflow, including crucial visibility into production monitoring and full traceability from powder to part.
- Transition to automated part and process qualification.
- View data in real-time and go deep into the analytics feed.
- Capture data for simulation, material property prediction, and final pedigree, as well as important quality assurance checks to reduce post-inspection requirements.
- Provide data connectivity and integrity agnostic to equipment environment throughout the production process.
AMUG Session: AM Workflow: Powder-to-Part
Jacob Brunsberg, President and COO of Sigma Labs, and Sven Hinrichs, Head of Technology Consulting at AMFG, will present specifics of the combined solution on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at the Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG) conference in Chicago. Connected AM Workflow: Powder-to-Part is the title of the session. Sigma Labs and AMFG will explain the importance of actionable data insights and how to use data in meaningful ways such as component and material property pedigree, final quality verification, and build process refinement. The ultimate goal is to improve manufacturing OEE and, as a result, reduce the time to qualification for associated components.
“We chose to partner with AMFG because of their solid reputation in the manufacturing execution space. Like Sigma Labs, AMFG is committed to deep collaboration that benefits individual customers as well as the additive manufacturing industry as a whole. The focus has shifted in the past several years from developing technology for technology’s sake, to solving the end user’s business problem. Both of our companies are industry leaders in embracing this trend.”
– Jacob Brunsberg, President of Sigma Labs
According to Sven Hinrichs, AMFG’s Global Head of Technical Consulting, “While there are point solutions that solve specific challenges, everyone benefits when data between systems flows freely and is used to optimise the entire process. We’ve been great admirers of the tremendous strides Sigma Labs has made in ensuring part quality and qualification and are very happy to partner with their team to integrate for customers into an optimised end-to-end solution.”
