Voxel8, a Boston-based multi-material digital manufacturing company, and Eddy Ricami, a leading Italian manufacturer to the fashion industry, announced an exclusive agreement wherein Eddy Ricami will produce and sell high-fashion accessories using Voxel8 ActiveLab® Digital Manufacturing System.

ActiveLab® is a multi-material digital manufacturing system for product development, wear testing, and limited production runs of high performance athletic footwear uppers and sporting goods. It allows manufacturers to offer unique design embellishments to customers with shorter design cycle and manufacturing lead times.
Voxel8’s ActiveLab® Digital Fabrication System offers a complete turnkey solution, including hardware, software and materials, for printing functional features on textiles.

Agreement on using ActiveLab® Multi-Material System
Under the agreement, Eddy Ricami will establish the ActiveLab® capabilities at their manufacturing facility in Montecosaro, Italy. By having the system in-house, they can respond rapidly to the demands of their high fashion customers – creating high-quality, custom-designed products while eliminating supply chain risks associated with overseas production. In the future, Eddy Ricami customers will be able to realize the potential of personalized designs at virtually no incremental cost.
