The Uttar Pradesh (UP) government has announced plans to build the state’s first 3D printed art gallery in the temple town of Ayodhya, in a groundbreaking move that combines heritage with modern innovation. This initiative is part of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision to transform Ayodhya into a cultural hub with planned development.
The Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) has begun planning for the gallery, which will be built on a 1,500-square-meter site near Vashishtha Bhawan on Tedhi Bazar Road.
First 3D Printed Art Gallery
The gallery will feature an exhibition hall, a sculpture gallery, and an amphitheatre, creating a dynamic platform for showcasing art and culture.
According to an official spokesperson, the 3D printed art gallery project will be a pilot initiative to demonstrate the efficiency, cost-saving potential, and environmental benefits of 3D printing technology in building construction. The ADA stated that the gallery would be built primarily of concrete, with advanced 3D printing technology and software such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Structural Analyzing and Designing (STAAD) driving the process.
The 7.5-metre-high building will house amenities such as a garden, amphitheatre, lounge, cafeteria, art-boutique, and craft shops. The detailed design of the gallery is currently being finalized.
In addition to the art gallery, a mechanised multi-level smart parking facility will be built in the Ramkot neighbourhood near the Ram Janmabhoomi temple at a cost of Rs 53 crore. With the groundwork for these innovative projects soon to be laid, Ayodhya is poised to embark on a new chapter in its cultural evolution, combining its rich heritage with modern technology and infrastructure development.
